Okay. My dreams sometimes are simple. *grin* BUT, I finally got my wish to really start learning machinima …
I actually made my first machinima vid on December 1, 2006. I found it yesterday under my first avie’s name. ROFLOLLLLLL! I will def find it on my HD and put it here some day. I actually was wearing the default skin (which I thought was pretty cute at the time and so did my colleagues at work! Hahaha!) I used Camtasia Studio to capture the footage. (I am trying out the full FRAPS now) and I “scored” it to the BeeGee’s “Stayin’ Alive.” It was filmed on location at the “Edge Club” …. lol!
You know though, it’s interesting because I had only been in SL for like a week … and I wondered why all those other people were so much prettier, and for the life of me I couldn’t get those damn sliders to work right! LMAO! Anyway, after buying land (YES! Land whore here!), I discovered “skins” and never turned back. Okay, back to “Machinima” … Guess what?
I am in an off-world group called “The League of Muses” and within that group we started another group for peeps who want to learn machinima. Well, c’mon, it’s obvious *rolls eyes* that I have a friggin’ lot *laughs* to learn and I finally have some time that I’d like to devote to it. I swear to you machinima is NOT easy, at least not for me. I am still learning editing software and I have no idea in hell how to use the positioning camera, specifically because, well, I just don’t.
That brings me to my point. We were going to try and learn Codie’s MachinimaCam together on our own in two hours each Saturday morning, but yesterday when I IM’d Codie to ask her advice on how to get started, she came up with the friggin’ BRILLIANT idea to hold the workshops herself! (Ha! I was secretly hoping she’d do that!)
So there will be a series of four fabulous workshops! And here is the announcement!

These not-to-be-missed sessions will be taught by none other than the magical, the marvelous, the loving and tender, all hawt and never bothered, the illustrious Mz Codie Redgrave herself … ;=)
We have two sessions nailed down. Both on Saturday mornings. Both at 9AM to 11 AM SLT. (YES! Codie will be awake for these! They are Noon her time, so all is well!) *huge grin*

The first will be a complete Introduction and all the Basics on using the MachinimaCam which you can purchase on X St, here.
Please take the time to read the manual prior to the session. I suggest printing it out on “real” paper so you can highlight sections you may have questions on and also use it to refer easily back to when you have your C/Alt/F1 on and can’t access it.
The second session will include more advanced use of the Cam and will include more information on making short “films”, etc. Codie will give us more of a rundown on this and I will post more info here on the next session later.
Lastly, there are two advanced sessions planned for down the road. We will be ready! Try to attend!
