A pith helmet was Doc’s first request for our upcoming camping trip … yes, a pith helmet. *grin* He is such a guy-guy. I guess that’s why I like ‘im so much …! The pith actually has a neat history, too. Anyway, I used this Teddy Roosevelt archive print as a source image for the hat sculpt (I know. It now looks nothing like it because after I started working on it, I didn’t like the way the brim bent down so far. I wanted the fabric to appear stiffer, more like the Brit versions.) I made the texture with a large kind of canvasy- look and put in some sweat stains around the seams (guy thing, you know. girls don’t sweat, much … we “lightly perspire”).
I’ll take a picture of Doc wearing it, naturally. I’m sure he will look all-the-hawtness in it. I want a “girlier” one for m’self … ;=)
